GoodBye Gatsby: January 2015-December 1 2016

If you follow my Instagram you will now that Gatsby passed away at the beginning of the month.

I wanted to explain his death, because he was alright for so long and we never saw this coming.  Continue reading

November Favorites

Although it’s a little late I wanted to share my November Favorites with all of you.

It’s been a very hard month this year because of my dad’s health issues and Gatsby’s passing, but I thought that I would bring up some happy thoughts so that everything isn’t sad and miserable.

I’ve really discovered a lot of new music this month. I’ve really felt connected to these songs because of where I sort of am in life right now.

I really like the song Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing by Set It Off right now because I really do feel like that with some people in my life right now. It makes me feel like I’m not the only one who feels like that at the moment, and it reminds me that I’m not a horrible person for feeling like that.

Heathans by 21 Piolets and Mad Hatter by Melanie Martinez are also in my top songs because they sort of take me to a relaxing place and lets me dive into myself and lets me process what I’m feeling and thinking.

The Last song is Closer by Chain Smokers. I really like this song because it’s the only song at the moment that Kurt and I will agree on 100%. Hearing that song makes me feel close to him again and lets me feel like I’m not so alone.

Yes, I like anime. I’ve watched way too much of it this month.

The first show that I watched was Diabolic Lovers. I thought that it was ok, but it wasn’t my favorite. I feel like they really need to go back and figure out motives and small details that I think are going to add more to the story than what they have right now.

The next show that I watched was Dance With Devils, which I just didn’t like. I debated not even mentioning it here, but I decided to mention it and let you all know that it wasn’t that great. At all.

Then Kurt and I finally finished what we had to watch of Magi, which was a great show that I absolutely loved. We’ve already started watching Magi: Adventures of Sinbad and I am too excited about that show.

SO I don’t have a ton of favorites this month, but I wanted to mention what I do have. I really like my current Planner Cover, because let’s face it Halloween is my Holiday and I really don’t want to move on from it. I also am in love with the MissPlansPrintables Monthly kits because I feel like it comes with enough stuff that I am able to really plan out my month regardless of how busy or slow it is. I am also really liking my Bullet Journal this month because I feel like I have a place to literally just to brain dumps and be able to find the information later.

So this month I have a few new favorites for Hair and Beauty.

I really like Manic Panic: Vampire Red because I feel like it refreshes my color and helps it fade out really nicely when I wash it. I just add a little to my conditioner, let it sit, and it works very well.

I also am in love with hair bows or beanies. I don’t know why but I always love beanies around this time of the year, pry because they’re warm and I’m always cold. I’m sort of surprised with my obsession with hair bows in the recent weeks because I feel like they’re out of season and are sort of misplaced in the middle of snow.

The last thing that I’m in love with is Tony Moly face masks. They’re a little more expensive, but they make my face feel so much better and of the ones that I’ve used they smell so nice.

So those are my favorites of the month, I hope you enjoyed! what are you obsessing over right now? Let me know in the comments!

See you soon,

Pet Stockings?

If you’re like Kurt and I we spoil our pets, and Christmas is no exception. We do, though, have to control ourselves so Gatsby and Lucia each have a small stocking at each house (my apartment, my parent’s house, and Kurt’s parent’s house). Each stocking gets a few small things and each pet gets a larger present that we open for them when we are with them. (Gatsby normally is at my parent’s house so we open his gift with him on Christmas Eve and Lucia’s gift is opened Christmas day when we’re with her at Kurt’s parent’s house.) This not only helps us not spend a ton of money, but it also gets our families involved a little.

So today I wanted to talk about some fun stocking stuffers that you can use for your pets to fill their stockings this Christmas!

Treats will always be your pet’s favorite, and some seasonal treats are always great! For Dogs and Cats these treats are easy to find at your local pet store, but for some smaller or less common animals try some seasonal vegetables, fruits, and nuts. For Lucia we always give her a few walnuts (which I can never find except around Christmas time) and for Gatsby we typically give him some turkey, cranberries or pumpkin. (I sometimes sneek him a half a bite of pie, but you shouldn’t give them too much of it or very often. It’s a SMALL once a year treat for him.)

This is simple, but your pet toys to put into their stockings! They’ll love it!

If you want to add some decorations to your pet’s cage you can throw a few decorations into their stockings. It isn’t so much of a them treat as a you treat, but it’s something fun! You can also get some chewable decorations for your small animals so that it can serve two purposes instead of just one.

I’m not always a fan of pet clothing, but cute little outfits for them to wear that day can always be fun for them and for you. You can get them a new sweater, a hat, or even a bow tie! (Gatbsy is going to get a tutu this year, shhh…. don’t tell him.)

So those are some small stocking stuffer ideas for your pet this Christmas. What is your pet getting for Christmas? Let me know in the comments down below!

See you soon,

Easy Christmas Gifts

It’s the most expensive time of the year! And limited funds means getting creative, so here are my top 10 Easy Christmas Gifts that let’s face it, I give to people that I need to give gifts to but I don’t know them very well.

So hopefully some of these last minute gifts will help you out, and solve some of your budget issues.

Cookies, because who doesn’t like cookies?

Honestly I adore baking, so this one is easeir for some than it is for others. At the gegining of December I bake a ton of random cookies and pop them into the freezer so that they’ll keep and I’ll have an easy gift for teachers, coworkers, and aquantances that I want to give something to but I can’t afford it.

I personally am a visual learner, and for some reason I can always remember that one epic picture of my friend from two years ago that was a really good picture so I print it off and put it in a nice frame and there we go. The worst part of this one is finding the picture, but normally you or someone close to you will remember at least one picture that your friend needs on their wall. (Everyone needs that picture of them in their favorite snapchat filter, don’t worry about it.)

Cakes In A Mug

Living in the dorms on campus and having a horrible sweet tooth these were my saving grace back in my first year or two of college. They are also great because you can decorate the mug yourself! To do this take a ceramic mug and draw on it with Sharpie, and then bake it in your oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. You can write the recipe on the side or draw a picture like I did! With these you can go get a few treat bags from the store, layer all of the dry ingredients in the bag, tie it up, and put it in your awesome decorated mug! (Here is my favorite recipe, that I made a few too many times….)

Movie Night In A Box

my godfather has gotten like 10 of these… because I always find movies that he needs to watch. (He might be a little sick of these at this point.) They are really easy, though, because you can pick out popcorn, candy, and a movie for someone and give them a little movie night. This can also be cheaper too because Target has so many fun movies that will bring you back to childhood (for only $10, and some for $5). If you guy the candy and popcorn in bulk and make a few of these you can make them for maybe $15 each. To wrap them wrap a shoe box and print out a “ticket” to the movie and glue/tape it to the top.

So, gonna be honest I’ve never made these, but my friend Tiffany made them for me a year or two ago? They were really cool and lots of fun to receive! I don’t know much more about these, but here is a post that does!

Handmade Cards

If you have kids, this is the one for you. Have your kids make cards for different holidays or just to say hi. You can give these to aunts, uncles, and grandparents and they will love them and be able to use them! It’s also a great craft for your kids to do while you’re baking the cookies, or taking a nap… (Kurt’s not the best babysitter in the world…)

If who you are buying a gift for is over 21 (or whatever the legal age of alcohol consumption is where you are) some wine or their favorite kind of drink can be a great gift. If you are 21 this is a great choice for all of your friends because you’re all going to pry drink it anyway. If you wanted to make your gift a little more expensive-ish for a friend or even a significant other you can pair this with the movie night (maybe even sneak in a recipe for a themed drink that they may enjoy).

Amazon Gift Card

I do this too often. I have a stack of Amazon gift cards in my car for people that I have no clue what to get them, but I want to get them something. They’re also great when I forget to buy them a gift. It’s also a great gift for that person in your friend group that you might not really like, but you want to keep the peace so you get them a gift.

So yeah! I hope that this helped you come up with some gift ideas.

See you soon,
