Monthly Spread Updates

I wanted to do an update monthly spread thing, but I realize that I hadn’t used my monthly spreads very much….. but let’s talk about it anyway because I do have some updates.

August

My monthly August spread was beautiful (in my opinion) but it really wasn’t use because I’m still trying to figure out what exactly I want to do with it. I really did like it, though, and I’ve started going back at the end of each week and updating what has happened.

Since the last time I update you on this spread I have added the one movie I saw in August, my two car issues, and when my roommate moved into the apartment. I like knowing when these things happened because I do look back at my planners to see what I was up to a year ago. The stickers I used were from STICKWITHME shop, and I actually realize that I need to order more from her so it was a great moment to remind me to order more.

September

As always I get my kits from LaceandLogos on Etsy, and honestly as a mini review this kit is beautiful, but I felt like she really needed some more cover boxes for days that aren’t actually part of the month, I noticed this with October too, and with both I managed to work around it, but it’s just something worth mentioning.

So this spread has a few different things that I haven’t mentioned or done before. For Birthdays I used both the Erin Condren stickers and the stickers in the kit, which was a lot of fun. I also used the date dots because my mom bought me a punch (yes! Finally!) and I honestly think that they add so much to the spread. I also used scale stickers. I want to do better with tracking my weight so I plan to weigh myself every Wednesday and mark it on the monthly spread so that it’s quick to see if I am making progress.

Before too long I need to add all of my school work after I’ve collected all of the syllabuses, because I really do need to keep track of my school work. I will also continue to go back and put in what I did that week, but there isn’t much else to say about this spread.

October

I’m really far ahead right now, because I already have a lot of October done. All of the main parts are done and I already have my school holidays on the calander, so the only thing that needs to be added to this is my school work dates.

So that’s what I’ve done with my monthly spreads right now, and there will be another update next month.

What do your monthly spreads look like? What do you use them for? Let me know I the comments, because I need a little bit of help with it.

See you soon,

~Amanda

College Pet Problems

10 issues that your pet will have with you, if you take them to college with you and they become a college pet, written from the prospective of my pets.

  1. Never enough treats, because mom can’t afford to give me endless treats like I want
  2. Not having a giant cage because there’s no room for it…. so the minimum will have to do
  3. Everyone watching me while I sleep because I’m “too cute”
  4. Hearing mom wake up really early for classes, and waking me up even though it isn’t on purpose.
  5. Mom keeping the lights on late at night working instead of playing with me.
  6. Not enough treats.
  7. Car rides to Grandma and Grandpa’s (we really hate those)
  8. Lots of short term pet sitters if mom has to go on a night-time field trip
  9. Mom never leaves us alone (because we live in her bedroom)
  10. We never get enough treats!!! More treats mom!!!

Designing a Tube Kingdom!

I am very excited to be staring this monthly series where I talk to all of you about making a Tube Kingdom like what Kurt and I have built for Lucia.

Today I’m going to talk about starting your kingdom by thinking about the design.

First off I want to say that cages like this most often should only be used with dwarf hamsters because I’m talking about using crittertrail cages. If you want to use a cage like this for a syrian hamster please find larger tubes to use.

So let’s get started….

Me and Cars

So this week has been very exciting and it’s only Tuesday.

So let’s break down what the last 48 hours has been.

Sunday

Sunday was the last day I was at Kurt’s to finish building The Tube Kingdom for Lucia. I spent the entire weekend working on this project, and at the end of it I was kind of done with it. The last thing we did was put the grates and connectors, and Kurt swore that Gorilla Glue would work perfectly, but there were two issues with that.

The first was that he let me do it and I shouldn’t have done that, like that was a bad idea. I turned out horrible and I absolutely hated how it visually looked because it just didn’t turn out well. So much of the glue was showing and it was just horrible. Kurt came down and said that it just looked horrible.

The second mistake was that it just didn’t work. Nothing stuck together, and it fell apart in seconds (so luckily it stopped looking bad really quick). I was so happy that I was able to peel the glue off and everything went back to normal, but we had run out of time and nothing worked. By the time I got home that night I was so fed up and completely disappointing with not having a big cage for Lucia, and even looking over to her cage now it breaks my heart.

Monday

So the majority of Monday was good. I started my new job and it all went well, but then my car broke down in the parking lot. I got home three hours later with the help of Morgan, but I had interrupted her entire night and I felt horrible. My mom and brother drove a total of three hours to drive up my mom’s car for me to use while mine was in the shop, but I felt horrible. (But, they brought Gatsby up so….. not so sorry about it)

Tuesday

So this brings us to today. At my internship I just couldn’t focus and I got barely anything done and I just couldn’t seem to work. I don’t know what I was doing and I just couldn’t get it together. I was even a few minutes late for my second job, and since it was my second day it just wasn’t good.

Then I come out of work, and as I pull out of the parking lot I got into a car crash. Yup. So that took up an hour of my life that I wasn’t planning on.

So yeah, at this point I’ve just sort of given up on this week and want to hide in my apartment.

July Erin Condren Order

This will be a short post, but I wanted to share what I got in my latest Erin Condren order and what I think about what I got as a first impressions post.

So first I got the Don’t Quit Your Daydream cover, which I like but I’m starting to have some issues because my planner is a little too full so it’s starting to “pop” a little bit. This isn’t the fault of the company though, it’s just my life. I really honestly like this cover and it’s tied for my favorite with my create your own serenity one.

The next thing I got was the dashboard, which I keep temporary lists in that I won’t need to know about in two years or I won’t need to dispute with anyone later (aka my target list that my mom was helping me pay for may need to be disputed or talked about later, so I want to keep it).

The last thing I got are the wet erase markers, which I’m kinda sad about because they do rub off over time (which makes me sad) and the purple one is really weird and it sort of erases itself really quickly.

Anyways, that’s what I got in my latest order from Erin Condren. What’s on your planner wish list? Let me know down below!

See you soon,

Amanda

Critter Hangouts Review

If you remember a few weeks ago I got my order from Critter Hangouts, and I unboxed it on camera, which you can see in this blog post. I was surprised and pretty happy with what I got in my order, but after a month of using it I wanted to go back and do a full review of the products that I received. I ordered a Pokemon set that they no longer have, but the ones that they do have now are both pretty cools as well.

Well Hello There

Hello again and welcome back!

Sorry about the unexpected vacation, but a few things hit me at once, so let’s talk about them one by one.

Pets

Both of the pets are doing just fine. Gatsby has had a little bit of trouble lately as he’s been handled by multiple pet sitters while I’m running all over the country side, but he’s still just fine and I’m always getting updates about how great he is doing. Lucia is doing just fine well, the move hasn’t changed her at all and she’s excited to get into her new cage ASAP, which luckily Kurt and I are building this weekend.

Planner

Lately I’ve been slacking on my planner, but that’s ok because so many plans are just changing day by day. It’s been insane, so I’m happy to once again be sitting down and writing and planning again. Hopefully this blog will get done a little more often because of it.

The Move

I have now been living in my fall housing for four days, and i’m so happy to be here (even if here is balancing my laptop on a box and writing this). Everything is coming together well and I’m so excited to see it once I don’t have anymore boxes in the living room. The last living arrangement with Morgan was always temporary, so nothing changed there and we are still great friends.

Jobs

If you didn’t know I recently lost my job, because where I was working went out of business, but I’m excited to say that I have found a new job and will begin working there soon. I should tell you all the story of that, but I think that it all needs to be covered in another blog post.

Kurt

I’m excited to say that Kurt is doing fine, and is sleeping behind me while I write this. We’re continuing our long distance relationship and everything is going as well as it can. We’re doing out best and that’s all I can ask for. Kurt has also now signed up for the last class he needs to complete his degree, and he is on track to graduate this December. Although living at his house wasn’t what he planned, he’s excited to start the fall again and can’t wait to get back to routine in a few weeks.

Me

Several people have recently asked me about how I am doing and what’s going on. Recently I have almost completely gotten off social media, and I’ve barely kept it up, but I will be plugged back in soon. Due to my mental health recently I haven’t been up to very much, and what I can do has become very difficult to do. Although I can’t say I’ve solved anything at this point, I defiantly am better than two weeks ago, and I’m happier because of it.  I’ve also started a new blog, which has been taking up a little bit of my time. I’m happy where it has gone, but it is taking my time away from this, which I truly enjoy.

So yeah, a lot has been going on and it’s been a whirl wind, but stick around because we have some great content coming up!

~See you soon,
