Today I really wanted to talk about Facebook groups that center around pets and how to care for them. Currently I’m in a few Facebook groups (two for hedgehogs one for hamsters) and they are basically my entire feed. I’m not saying that this is a bad thing, because I’ve made a few friends through these groups, but between the two you basically have my entire news feed.
So first I wanna talk about why you should really look into some Facebook groups, because they are really awesome to be honest. I love being able to talk with people about taking care of our pets and learning what I can do better with taking care of my pets. I also love being able to scroll through Facebook and being able to see the pictures of a ton of cute animals, because I do honestly love it.
So these groups do contribute to the community that pet owners have with one another. It is really nice if something bad or good happens to talk to people who understand what you’re going through and are willing to help and support you through it. Its also great to see those who are getting your kind of pet for the first time and being able to help and educate them about how to take care of their pet. It’s great to be able to see how they change, grow, and continue their journey as pet owners.
There are only two things that I can honestly think of when I am trying to come up with bad things for these types of Facebook groups. One is that they take over your feed, like, to be honest. That is really just a double edged sword, though, because it can be a great thing for some people. I personally enjoy it.
The only really purely bad thing that I can think of is that people do and will judge how you’re taking care of your pet and they will tell you if you’re doing it wrong. Even if something is very minor or if it’s really just a personal decision you’ve made people will let you know if they disagree. I really don’t like this, but I have had very few incidents with this that have really upset me (there was one REALLY bad one, but that was about it).
So overall I personally do enjoy the Facebook groups that I’m in and I love being in them.
